Lauren turned 5 on September 4th. We always celebrate her birthday over Labor Day weekend, this year it was jammed with activities.
Saturday morning started off with the Runt Run. This was the second year Lauren participated in it.

The pictures got out of order. This was her actual birthday. Special chocolate chip pancakes in the shape of a 5 and dark chocolate almond milk in a wine glass.
Mud pile
She requested homemade mac and cheese for supper. I line the bottom of the dish with pizza sauce.
Jumping in the cold mud
Kyle and I laughed at her birthday presents this year. Kyle gave her socks, an umbrella, a sketch pad and I gave her reusable stainless steel straws, scotch tape, and bubble gum tape. That is what she wanted...

After our nightly walk we treated ourselves to an ice cream cake (first time kids have tried it). Lauren was excited because she was able to pick the route on our walk too. I think we zig-zagged a few times because she forgot how to get home.
hay bale climb
Done! She wanted to do it again!
She requested a presidential birthday party. We had a voting booth to vote for the favorite potato chip
All the presidents on the wall
Chips up for vote. Ginger Wasabi was the favorite from those who voted.
She wanted American Flag "Stab-Ins" in her cupcakes. People were mighty confused when she would say "stab-ins" in public.
With our family in town, we opted to have Isaac baptized on Sunday. It was a fun weekend!
